Asperger Syndrome: The Story of a Mother and the President of the Association

ASPİEDER Association President Demet Güner came together with young medical students at Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty upon the invitation of Prof. Dr. Barış Korkmaz and talked about the difficulties experienced by individuals with Asperger syndrome and their families.

Sharing her experiences as a mother and the president of the association, Güner drew attention to the problems that individuals with Asperger syndrome face in education and the health system, and emphasized the importance of physicians and health workers being more aware of this issue.

At this meeting, which attracted great interest from medical students, a productive conversation was held on the correct diagnosis of Asperger syndrome and the development of more inclusive approaches for individuals.
